DESCRIPTION
This version of donuts is baked. I used a silicone donut mold, which allowed me uniformity in the shapes. It is easily found in online stores or home improvement stores.
The fun part of this preparation is definitely the decoration. Fantasy has no limits, and I made these 4 different toppings:
dark chocolate
with caramel and toasted almond granules
With cryo-dried strawberries and vanilla frosting
To sugar-colored confetti.
But the variations are endless! Not the least of which is certainly to keep them au naturel, so that they can also be enjoyed in their exquisite simplicity.
I did not use sugar, but rather agave syrup, so that they could be even more suitable for those who do not like sugar and those who want to keep their glycemic index low. As a reminder, 75 g for every 100 g of sugar is enough to replace sugar with agave syrup.
I used white sugar only to create the vanilla frosting on which I went and added the dried strawberries and colored sprinkles. The frosting is a thick mixture made from powdered sugar, which I flavored with vanilla extracted from the pod. It is sticky and glossy, giving our donuts a glossy finish.
The flour I chose to use is type 0 flour. I don’t like the super refined one, and this one is ideal because strong enough. For those who would like to make gluten-free ones, there is nothing to prevent using a gluten-free flour mix.
Donuts are nothing but like soft brioche, so great for both a breakfast and birthday or even Christmas with themed toppings.
Let’s now take a look at how to make these mouth-watering doughnuts that look like they were baked right in Springfield :) D’OH!
